Episode 35 – Setting the Expectation of Men in Our Kids’ Lives

In this episode of the DTALKS Podcast, the dads welcome back previous guest Cinto Ramos Jr. and his friend Frank Minikon Jr, COO of Melanin Origins, a company that publishes children’s books, to discuss how we pass on what being a man means to our children and what our children should expect from the men in their lives.

There has been a recent news of a number of celebrities’ acting inappropriately from a position of power and/or influence. Unfortunately, this kind of behavior extends beyond celebrities and it is important as parents and adults who have an influence on the children in our lives to teach them what to expect from adults, especially men.

This episode finds us briefly wading into a very deep pool of a subject. It is imperative that we teach our kids what is and is not OK for the adults in their lives to do, and that we always offer them a sanctuary in the turbulence of that life inevitably throws our way.

We appreciate Matt taking time out to talk to us about the book and we look forward to the opportunity to have him on again in the future.

Unfortunately, John was unable to make the interview with Matt due to a death in the family and then caught strep throat when Joe and Galan recorded. As he’s everyone’s favorite, we’re sorry that we couldn’t deliver his normal energy with this episode.
